Julie Kagawa's Words To Kristi + Giveaway

Kristi was one of the first bloggers I met when I was just a newbie author stumbling around the blogosphere, wide-eyed and looking for friends.  I was actually in awe that "The Story Siren," the diva of book blogging, was really talking to me.  When she gave me my first review for The Iron King, I was jumping up and down with excitement.  She's just as sweet in person as she is online (though she still won't eat eel sushi), and I owe her a great deal.  Kristi does so much for debut authors and new bloggers alike, and I'm proud to say that The Story Siren is someone I call a friend.

Happy Blogoversary Kristi!

--Julie Kagawa, author of The Iron Fey series

*Giveaway*

Julie Kagawa has been generous enough to donate one (1) copy of The Iron King and one (1) copy of The Iron Daughter in honor of Kristi's 3 year blogoversary and the Story Siren Appreciation Week. Thank you so much Julie!

  1. I just wanted to tell Kristi congrats on 3 years of blogging! She was surely someone I looked to ( and still do ) when I was starting my blog and someone just to read. I also look forward to her IMM's on You Tube weekly. You are awesome Kristi!

  2. To Kristi

Just wanted to take the time to congratulate you one 3 years of blogging. Your blog is the reason that I decided to take the leap and start my own book blog. I've stumbled across so many book sites where the tone of reviews or discussion topics were done in such an inaccessible-to-the-reader manner, that stumbling across yours was something that completely bowled me over. Thanks for all the hard work, dedication, wonderful author and book spotlights as well as sharing your wealth of knowledge so generously. Mostly, thanks for the genuine, conversational and authentically real tone of voice to your book reviews and blog.

Here's to many more fabulous blog posts, book reviews, author spotlight and features from you. Thanks for what you mean to the book community as a whole! You truly rock!

  6. When I was new in book blogging, Kristi's blog was one of the first blogs I visited. I was inspired by her. At first, I'm just so excited to start my blog and my first review, not knowing I was spoiling it. I scanned her blog and found her very helpful Dear Story Siren posts. It really helped me a lot to organized my thoughts and make my blog sensible. I learned how to communication to other blogger's important. But those times, only one or two person visited my blog. I found her IMM meme and so I joined. whala!, a lot of readers stumbled on my page. From that moment, my reader number increases. Kristi is not mean, she share what she have.

  15. Kristi--I loved getting to hang out at PAYA and talk about how our husbands/boyfriends have to put up with all of our crazy ways! You are such a genuinely nice and helpful person! I love that you share your knowledge with everyone. You are one of the least selfish bloggers I know! And I definitely appreciate that when I email you like a crazy person about a problem you take the time out of your pizza night to answer! :P

  18. Kristi doesn't just inspire book bloggers - she inspires readers. She's built up so much clout and any book she mentions instantly makes it to thousands of reader's TBR piles. She helps new authors find readers, and new readers find books. She absolutely deserves this week of celebration, because I know there are hundreds of us who would not be book blogging without her.

  21. Kristi's blog has served as both a wonderful resource for me, a new blogger, as well as just a great blog for fans of YA literature. Recently, when she did the feature on people of color in YA, I realized how happy I was that the person with the biggest blog is also someone who is using her influence for good. Not all blogs do this, and Kristi really sands out as a positive force in the blogosphere. Kristi's blog goes beyond the superficial and really explores all the wonderful possibilities of a YA book blog.

  23. Oh, I left a comment on her main pic post thing too. But I'll repeat a little of it.

Kristi is so personable with her followers and she always comments back to them, not making them feel like just another commenter. I am new to the whole book blogging thing and she has been such an inspiration.

What I love most is that she really brings the book blogging world together. She has created an online family and I am so thankful for all she does. Awesome reviews, the DAC, the e-mails she has answered. She just really reaches out, and I think it's so fantastic that you all are reaching back out to her. She definitely deserves the recognition!
